("Summer Flowers" by John William Godward, c. 1903)
The Summer Solstice...Midsummer...Litha. The longest day of the year it marks the time of the Sun's zenith. The Oak King and the Holly King battled once again today...this time the Holly King was victorious, and will rule until Yule.

I hope everyone had a lovely Solstice. Mine was hot and humid. On par for the south. I'm looking forward to the lengthening of days, and the cooler temperatures to come (I prefer Fall to Summer). For now...

Happy Solstice!

("Ophelia" by John William Waterhouse, c. 1889)
