New Moon In Libra...October 15th, 2012...

("Libra", Artist: David Palladini)
Monday, October 15th, at 8:03 AM/EST, is the New Moon in the sign of Libra. The intensity and drama of the past months will lessen a bit as a welcome state of “mellow” moves in for this lunation. The square that began around September 18th between Pluto and Uranus is slacking off, as the two planets move away from one another. That intense energy will gradually dissipate. There are no dominant elements, as the earth and water planets are equal to the air and fire planets. There is also a balance with the modalities (mutable, fixed, cardinal), as well.

Libra projects more of a give and take vibe. It’s about being more agreeable, and compromising when necessary to keep things on a more harmonious level. The energies foster fairness, and the positive support of others. If you see someone who is being treated unfairly, lend them your support.

This Libran moon is trine retrograde Jupiter in Gemini. New Moons are generally times to start new projects, but it is recommended to relax and hold off. “Retrogrades” are very energetic periods, and they ask us to take a fresh look at a project already begun, or an existing relationship. It is a good time to focus, review, and revise where necessary. With the mellow vibe flowing, it’s a good time to think with a more ‘balanced’ perspective.

Libra’s ruler, Venus, is in Virgo sextile Mercury in Scorpio. Now would be a good time to have some heart to hearts, as drama and pain will be minimal. Heart felt conversations are more likely to be productive during this time. Venus in Virgo is also square Jupiter, so expect the overall mood to be lighter.

Saturn in Scorpio is in a grand trine with Neptune in Pisces, and Ceres in Cancer. It will be around for most of October. Extend a helping hand to those in need.

Enjoy the overall calming nature of this New Moon.
